So I have officially started my internship! My first week was awesome, I loved every minute of it. I have been super busy with meetings and getting my office set up, we’re not quite there but we’ll make it happen soon.
I’m going to be taking over the Uprising’s worship ministry for a couple of months. (the “Uprising” is Trinity’s junior high ministry, FYI)
Also just so you are aware, I’m going in a different direction with the site. I will continue to keep you updated on how things are going, but I will also be including things that the Lord is teaching Abby and I.

I had business cards made up advertising my website, so if you want one stop me at church and I’ll get you one.

….Thanks, nick.

monday night, pit ministries, threw me “send off” party. pit has been where i have ministered, primarily, for the last 11 years or so. the party was a total surprise for me, i had no idea and it was so awesome.

they went around in this giant circle and my friends and family took turns sharing testimony of what God has done in their lives through me. the whole time they were thanking me, i couldn’t help but think that there would be no way that i would be the person i was without them in my life over the last 10 years, we learned together, laughed and cried together, we did life together…it was great. they also took up an offering for abby and myself, which by the way could not have come at a better time, it put me over my goal to get a guitar and gave us a little extra to pay some bills. they also put together this video and at the risk of being pretentious i am putting it up. the video was put together by kyle beneke, with pictures of pit from over the years.

My Brother…

Okay I have been meaning to do this for the last month and now I’m going to. There are so many people who have been a part of my life and to whom I attribute much of who I am and where I am. I am going to, at the risk of leaving out someone thank some of them here in this post. First of whom is my brother, my little brother, who has played a huge role in my life from childhood. He has always stuck with me and encouraged me through all of life’s challenges.

::I don’t want this to sound like an Oscar Night Acceptance Speech but, yeah…::

Thank you Chris, for everything you have done for me. I love you, bro.

Next person I would like to thank is my awesome wife, Abby. She is ever-loving, faithful, and graceful to me. I know that I would be a completely different person if God had not brought her into my life. Babe, thank you for sticking with it and doing it with such grace and patience. (If you guys only knew what she has had to put up with.

There are a ton of other people to list, but for time’s sake my wife and brother are who I wanted to thank. I love all of you and thank you for all of your participation in my life.

Please be in prayer for my shoulder, I strained my Rotator Cuff and it hurts bad.

it has been over a month since my last post, sorry. i will be updating more often than that, hopefully, once a week. so here is what has happened in the last month: i have played with the sunday morning worship team every sunday since my first day with them. this has been incredibly awesome. i will be leading a song or two this sunday, the 27th, which is super exciting! i am a little nervous, imagine that, and would appreciate any prayers.

my son Ethan turned one on the 6th of July, he had a blast at his party and made out like a bandit. Abby did all of the work, along with the grandparents and people helping with some of the food. she really knows how to take care of our son.

Pastor Sean has approved my support letter so be watching your mailboxes. oh yeah, if you didn’t get a letter please email me at, and i will be sure to send one to you.

Abby has registered for classes. she has always had a desire to go to school, but never had the funds or time. funny thing is we still do not have either of those things, and actually less than in the past. but, God still has called her to do it, “He’s not safe, but He is good!”(or something like that)

we have moved back in with Abby’s parents, Jerry and Jo Beerman. we will be staying with them until we can afford to get a place of our own again. it was really hard to do it. not because of Jerry or Jo (i can’t think of anyone cooler to live with) we had just moved into our own place for the first time and we were only there for 9 months. God knows and we are just trusting Him. thank You Lord, where You lead we will follow.

i start the internship in september, please continue praying for my family and i as we prepare. bless you guys, and thank you for reading.

A Little Taste…

Well, sunday was my first sunday on the team. It was a little taste of what I hope this next year will be like, it was so great to be up there with that team and Pastor Sean worshiping together. It was inspiring to see the people in the congregation worshiping, the people of God all together, in likeness of mind, praising our Saviour. Honestly, it was breath-taking, and I have a feeling that it was not only breath-taking to me.(If you know what I mean.)
